The history of caste mobilization is much stronger, well institutionalized in the southern states. So even when political parties are out of office or when they're in office, these movements have been able to hold their leaders accountable for pushing these policies. And because of that, the absence of those kind of movements, that kind of common sense that we see in the south, you know, the moment they came up against a stronger, better organized electoral force, which is Hindutva.
