The Relationship Between Reinforcement Learning and Valence

The evolutionary argument I guess is intriguing to me. So part of the idea here is that we have reason to think that sentience is a capacity that we would expect to biologically evolve being to develop or something. It has a positive evolutionary role that it draws you to stimuli that you need like food, these of that are sex and is draws you away from things that are bad for your health or well being so that's a kind of role. But yeah, so why wouldn't that sort of give rise to sentience in your mind? And I think that yeah, I think the relationship between reinforcement learning and valent states is extremely important and interesting.
