There were these conspiracy theories about what had gone on. and yet there really wasn't anything to it in a sense, says O'Connell. The only thing that lends weight to that is the fact that my carter pleaded guilty to the first murder and there was no evidence heard in court he adds. There was a suspicion that that had been kind of managed in order to avoid embarrassment to Patrick Connolly and the government where the things really went wrong I think hockey himself whose political instinct were usually very good for reasons that aren't entirely clear at the time.
