Economically, not heri west, i would agree, i think, with the other other speakers on that. Economic success is easy to show, and we have agreed upon measures for it. The chinese are now clearly selecting from their own very complex, multistranded and often con self contradictory thought traditions. And they are selecting these and putting them forward in order to present a certain image of what they have to offer the rest of the world. Thati am most ordinary folk that i meet, who are not students, as an academic, who are well meaning, right thinking people,. I don't know whether they think they learned it from reading newspapers or watching documentaries on television,
