The case is going to go to trial and the trial will involve people taking the stand and testifying as to the facts. A defendant is not obligated to take the stand in their own defense, that's really the same thing here in the US as it is in the UK. I don't think there's any information that wholly lives within the knowledge base of the devs that would require them to sit up there and be subject to cross-examination. The legal system and the lawyers in the UK are much more polite and decorous than they are here. So what we're used to, these hard-hitting aggressive lawyers make people cry on the stand. That's just not how it's done there
