And yet, the east, and this is really counter intuitive,. You've already hinted at this, it's really counter intuitive. But these seemingly more authoritarian regimes were unable or unwilling to impose s that same sort of economic discipline. Despite the a ability to repress any sort of dissent and so on, aquash resistance, that they were unwilling to do that.
