Stephen is an acolyte of this Jesus of Nazareth who wants to change the law of Moses in the traditional way we worship. Stephen's a good scriptural scholar and chapter seven is actually a great recap of the Old Testament. He even gives us some interesting biographical information about Moses and how Moses got in trouble with the Egyptians. People use the temple to worship these false gods, David and Solomon are complicit in this in some sense because of their own personal wickedness.
