If neither DNA nor fingerprints do it, if it doesn't show up in any database anywhere, then what? Well, then they have a long haul to go because now you're relying on other traditional investigative tactics. So it's looking at the victim's devices. It's hoping that the offender carried a smart device that has got his location services turned on and potentially getting information as to what devices were at the crime scene at the time that the attack occurred. And this investigation turns more into a marathon than a sprint.
