Germany's Immobilized by Its History

Schultz's speech at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday gave no hint of such boldness, but in stepping to the front of a European leopard plan for Ukraine, Schultz would be showing German leadership that the entire West would welcome. I wonder if we're seeing an example here with Germany of a country in some sense being immobilized by its own history. It's sort of seeking a specific objective and it's trying to learn from history how to achieve that objective,. But in so doing it's actually making different errors that ultimately undermine their overall strategic goal.
