The Disenchantment of Competition

As economics disenchant the whole of social life is that competition then gets into everything. Individuals begin to see themselves, like companies used to see himself, to be marketed,. That individuals see themselves in competition with each other. So if you have an aspirational life presented to you, and you don't get that in a culture which is much more about solidarity, it's just like, no, you're in competition with everyone. And so we're seeing more and more pressure everywhere. We've got to market ourselves to other people, whether it's on Instagram or whatever. All of this is this great competitive thing Plus, we're also all the time marketing ourselves all the time. Is
