What's the Difference Between English and British English?

Some words have two spellings, but it's nothing to do with American influence. The word analog is spelled without the U-E in American English so A-N-A-L-O-G. You can say learnt, burnt and dreamt with a T at the end or learned, burned and dreamed with E-D. Even in my best British accent you can hear that D- and T sounds at the end.
