Sally Kohn: I talk a lot about emotions and the armor that keeps us guarded from people being able to see us and connect with us. What's fascinating is in the physical representation of being exposed, it's the same thing as it relates to connecting with people. If we're carrying the armor, we're actually going to further disconnect ourselves than if we stand wide open and ready to receive. She says fear is an emotion that in large part helps us to be safe.
