What Motivates You to Keep Doing What You Do?

When I decided to be a doctor, my motivation was the sense of achievement and curing patients. But as I work a longer time as a doctor, especially when the COVID-19 came, sometimes I feel the lack of power to cure. So even though we cannot cure in most cases, I want to make a difference to our patients. That's my motivation now, not in the initial stage. The value of medicine lies in caring about patients. When a patient trusts you, especially this feeling is strong when I perform surgery or they lie there without knowing what you do and let you cut me open. This trust is priceless."
