The Role of National Allegiances in Economic Crisis

No one even came upon the thought of a Chinese bank coming into, you know, to save one of these ailing banks and I guess the same goes vice versa. It does also raise the question whether at moments of economic crisis, the kind of national allegiances themselves play a role. For a Chinese bank to step in would be a whole different kettle of fish, I think, in geopolitical terms. No, there isn't an openness to international restructuring at moments like this.
