How Aerosols Affect Precipitation
Aerosols are really like the gift that keeps on giving in climate and not always a good way. They do a few different things and sort of now we group these different effects into two big families. So because you've got a bunch of particles in the atmosphere, they actually change the amount and the nature of the sunlight that reaches the surface. And when you add all these things up, it's a pretty strong, usually negative local effect on precipitation from from the cloud effects.
