There's two possible things in a sense. One is positive mimesis where maybe as you said, you're called to something higher and you break out. But often what happens is negative mimesis that is scapegoating. So they blame one person or one group that looks different. And now next thing you know, you've got a mob against an individual or a group. Exactly. You can think of it as everybody turning and facing everybody else before the scapegoat.
