DDT, a Chemical That's Been Banned for Half a Century
D d t was banned in 19 72, and then all of a sudden people started to say it was time to bring the chemical back. There were otbeds, there were journalists, you know, saying on the evening news like winni this chemical. We bring it back. They didn't say that we needed it back in the us. What they said was that we need it because the us weren't using it. In particular, countries that were still facing malaria, and that without d d t, they had no way of protecting themselves from this disease.
