Is There a Punch Line in Mathematical Reasoning?

Even the most abstract forms of human reflection, you find that the body is front and centre. The received vision that we have of mathematics is that it's pure rationality detached from our fleshy, emotional bodies. But if you actually go out and look at hew math is done, it turns out to be an example of manual labor. We value white collar workers who don't sweat, who don't use their bodies. In our cultural vir they don't go to jail. So that realization that our bodies are corps part of even the most abstract thought has motivated a lot of my work.
