When the convention assembles, one of the very first things they do is that Washington is going to be elected president of the convention. And he does, and he serves as president during the convention, and he only speaks three times during the convention. He exerts his influence over the convention simply by sitting there at the head of the convention,. everyone who is part of this convention knows he's under the eye of George Washington.
