This week we look at two parallel trends that emerged in england the 15 fifties. Several prominent scholars tried to stem the flow of blown words into english by returning the language to its anglo saxon roots. Meanwhile, the government of england was also rolling back the clock. Henry theeighth's daughter, mary, became queen and brought back catholicism which meant latin came back with it. This time well explore those attempts to turn back the clock and go back to basics.
