De lis: Foucault says that people in prisons are reduced to the status of children. They're not allowed to have an identity, they aren't allowed to have opinions, he writes. He suggests this is why schools resemble prisons. De lis: The same can really be said about workers in a factory. It's like reducing any kind of creativity they might be able to bring to the table.
