What Are the Concerns About False Teachings?
The reason Timothy's been sent there is to deal with these false teachings, which again, we don't know what they are. So one talks about myths and genealogies, which possibly involves or implies that there are alternative creation stories going on. There's actually a line where Paul references that some people are teaching that the resurrection has already occurred. And so there's this issue of false teaching. It appears that that was getting blended with aspects of Christian theology.
