The Price of Higher Spatial Resolution
Having higher resolution in any of those types that I just articulated is what we're always striving for in the remote sensing world. But there's a price for that and again there are limitations just by the laws of physics in terms of what you're able to do. In order to get a high spatial resolution you have to get a larger aperture and getting a larger aperture polishing a mirror of that size. Then integrating that into a much more complicated much more expensive spacecraft that weighs much more and is larger in form factor which requires a larger more expensive launch. So there's all these things that you've got to consider in terms of your pursuit of ever higher spatial resolution.
