Miths tell us so much. You contrast the myths of Greece and Rome that we're familiar with, with the Norse myths. Nobody in Norse myths sits there naked looking at their reflection in a stream and falling in love with themselves because it's really cold and it's kind of miserable. In neither of them is the world a particularly hospitable place. And even today when you start hanging around in Scandinavia, you watch the Scandinavian tendency to try and obliterate reality by using alcohol.
