The Importance of Human Beings

The dissent was read by Bill Clinton upon Blackman's retirement and published in his obituary. The most important thing he does is literally call for moral ambition, a call that I don't think has been answered often enough by the left in the Supreme Court. He says such formalistic reasoning has no place in the interpretation of the broad and stirring clauses of the 14th Amendment. And like I was saying before, I do think this feels very 80s in a lot of ways.
