How to Improve Literacy in the United States
After World War II, literacy rates dropped in the U.S. Instead of picking up books, many Americans were sitting down to watch TV. Seuss had created an engaging story about a crazy cat who came to play with two children on a rainy day. It was also playful and fun and repeated in a way that facilitated learning. Even today, people born from 1946 to 1964 are called Baby Boomers.
