Using Constraints in Programming

Programming is more pleasurable to solve a problem under constraint. No one wants to write code that's unreadable, but yet it's fun do it. The aesthetic is part of the satisfaction. It seems like people get really frustrated by inconsistencies and they want to find out what it is. There there are studies that show that people do better on tests after having to figure out like that there were mistakes in the material.
