God created art and entertainment to his glory as a way of us having a diversion. The Old Testament that we read tells stories was sometimes shocking and disturbing detail about sinful acts. John Piper says revealing nudity or taking God's name in vain are examples where the actor is actually sinning while they're doing the depicting.
