Sleeping in a Bed?

Some of the ancient egyptian beds were made to be not flat, but at an angle. Often you'll find gilded ornate examples, because the ancient eEgyptians did not use pillows,. But instead used a wooden or stone stand for their head. Why does that not sound very comfortable? That's the thing i alwaysi always tried to imagine what that was like.
