Is Grace Engaging the Self?
Marag Andrews: Does grace engage the self in a way that elevates, utilizes, brings into communion with god us as fully free and responsible beings? And thus, i think you end upwet the doctrine of merit. He says luther is always deeply worried about any the notion of grace taking up, using and incorporating into it the human effort. Andrews: There again, you can give crystal cases, perely, of involuntary acts. But there really is our offering being taken up in yuse. It isn't just that christ offers himself on the cross, and that sacrifice is represented in the mass. We can offer it too.
