The Importance of School Start Times
In 10 or 15 years time, we will be desperately ashamed about the earlyness of school start times. The data is fast accumulating and I think it is now unequivocal. One of the earliest studies that looked at this happened in America in Minnesota where they shifted their school start times from 7.25 to 8.30 in the morning. It's clearly not a good idea because for a 7.25 start, school buses will begin leaving at 5.30 inThe following year when kids were going to school at 8.30 the average SAT score was 1,500, which is a 212 point increase.
