The Last Supper is pretty much Leonardo's only painting that has remained in its original place. He was hailed as a master in his lifetime, so it's not just the 20th century where we decided he's a genius. The most expensive painting of all time sell for $450 million and I think we should stick to just saying that that attribution is hotly debated. You imagine spending half a billion dollars on something that might be a Leonardo?
