The Economist's Concept of Discrimination
Sally Kohn: We have a difference in wages between men and women not because there's any discrimination taking place, but because the choices, the investments in their human capital were different. She says economists would say that if those two people are paid differently, that's evidence of what appears to be discrimination. Kohn: But notice something, once women begin to go into the labor market, they're getting paid correctly, given the skills that they have. So we need to culturally attack the problem of why women aren't doing more STEM, right?
