The Effects of Failure on Group Morale
Prophecy can affect group morale, but in different ways for different reasons. Failed prophecies create serious dissonance which if you're a believer, you try to relieve it by just doubling down. Costs of leaving a group can be high. Sometimes, and then sometimes, it's just bad overall. You just get lost of membership.
