The History of Lake Lanier

Oscarville, which is a town located in Forsyth County, was one of the main towns that was going to need to be flooded for the birth of Lake Lanier. The county is historically known for a pretty incredibly racist past. Sleeley May Crow was viciously beaten, raped, and killed on September 9, 1912. She was found unconscious laying in the woods near Brown's bridge and close by what would later become Lake Laner.
