There had always been a few active women in the Python community and I had never really counted how many they were or if it was always the same two or three. Some people started pointing out that the open source community was, despite all its sort of pride,. there was not a very diverse community. The number of women that someone counted at OSCOM, I believe was well below even the already low industry level. And you know, I just think that's great.
