"I think that it is a trap when you do storyboards and you stick religiously to the storyboards," says cinematographer. "You've got to be open to throwing it all away, that is the trick." The director of one film said he didn't want to change anything from the storyboards - so actors had to stand in exactly the place they were drawn in a drawing.
