The Multiverse and the Beginning of the Universe

For any multiverse theory that's actually been worked out, it seems to require fine tuning. And I guess there's a lot out there that just haven't even been close to being worked out or anything like that at all. What about the beginning of the universe? Does that, how much do you think that weighs in on the debate too? How far can science really get us in saying that the universe really did have a beginning?
