How to Use Emotions in Meditation
Close your eyes. Take a moment to scan your body and notice any sensations that you feel. Don't make any attempt to change anything. If you're feeling a strong emotion right now, use that emotion for this meditation. Bring to mind the time and place when you felt this emotion. See it as fully as possible in your mind's eye. Usually strong emotions are accompanied by a verbal story running through your mind. Recall that story now. Let go of the story later in the meditation.
