When steff was two and a half, i took him to his first Montessori school. Steff could count up to 50 but the teachers stopped letting him do more than that. I went from being proud of my child's genius to wondering why im even thinking about this? The pressures on parents to create these perfect children hit me in the core. That's what hooked me: i want my kid to be in an ational system where they're joyful, happy, learning,. independent and able to excel at the level, at the pace that they want to. And that's old melmontesory, ye.
