At the end of November, a building fire killed at least 10 people. Gatherings to mourn and remember the dead turned into protests against the local government - China's zero COVID approach. People are angry that they cannot discuss the protests online or learn information using China's version of the internet. It is not just about Covid regulations but also China's censorship and lack of free speech.
