How Did You Become Interested in Machine Learning?
When I joined Stanford doing my PhD, I was actually interested in building wireless charging mechanisms for medical devices. But as part of those devices, what you had to do was solve these complex biological and genetic problems. So I spent some time learning machine learning and I just realized that's what I wanted to work on. And so I switched to my area of focus from medical devices to machine learning. Since then, I've been in this field.
