The Availability Bias in ADHD

Bias can be helpful in our daily lives, we can safely assume that a given grocery store will sell eggs and milk. Our mind uses a heuristic to apply expectations to things that appear to belong to the same category. A study by the UCLA physician economist Dan Lee showed how the availability heuristic can affect a doctor's diagnostic reasoning. Words with an initial R are more available in our minds.
