Xi Jinping's Strategic Picture Is Very Clear

China has probably has fewer friends today than it did two years ago. I'm not sure that Xi Jinping's the next 10 years will be as rosy as in past 10 years. On every front, yes, we have worked out some kind of a modus vivendi with the Chinese. But he has never walked back and he has never thought that he was doing the wrong thing. And that is concerning because tactically, he's taking five steps back but strategically, he remains where he is.
