J W S T - The Biggest Telescope in the Universe

The size of a telescope, main or primary mirror, is important because this determines how bright an object has to be in order for that telescope to see it. The bigger the mirror have, the fainter an object it can potentially detect. Also important is the telescope's angular resolution, which, for j w s t, is about point one arc seconds. This can see something that's one 30 thousandth of a degree across, which is almost nothing. I noticed a online somewhere that yo were saying you could resolve a penny with this telescope at a distance of 24 miles.
