The Bible's Economic Ethics

In Deuteronomy 15 we come to the Sabbath year and it deals primarily with the sabbatical year, like I've just said. So in 15 verse 1 we read this, every seventh year you shall grant a remission of debts. The kind of charity that we gravitate towards in our current economic arrangement is the kind of care that keeps people at arms length. That's why these texts are so explosive if we pay attention to what they're doing.
