Ariel castro pleaded guilty to 937 crimes, including kidnapping and rape. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus a thousand years. A month later he killed himself by hanging himself with a bed sheet. Michel has written two books about how she recovered from her ordeal. She runs a foundation called lily's ray of hope which helps women who have dealt with abuse or drama. Her son joe went straight to the hospital when she was rescued after being taken hostage for more than a week at age three. The pair met again on their second anniversary of Amanda's rescue. They are now married - they foster shelter animals together.
