How Do You Reconstruct Your Childhood?
In october 20, nineteenth after my wedding, we were on the plain to our honeymoon. At that point i had probably half the book written. I think i had let it bottle up for so long that the story just completely flowed out of me. And in my notes ap this book started as a bullet list of discreet memories and then i put it in order. When i wrote it on the subway, i would write things out of depending on what i felt called to revisit. So it was madule by madile. Did you interview your parents at all while you were working on the draft, or did that come later? There were moments when i wasn't sure of specific locations
