The world bank has suspended a number of programmes in afghanistan because of the talibans decision to once again ban girls from returning to secondary school. The attitude of the taleban, which regained power last year, towards women has long been seen outside afghanistan as regressive and restrictive. In two thousand and two afghanistan's first newspaper for women was published. It was called anasan, the women's mirror. And laura jones talks to its editor, shukre barak who is now living in london.
