The Different Types of Pneumothorax
There are three categories of pneumothoruses: spontaneous, traumatic and iatrogenic. Trauma can result from either blunt or penetrating trauma. The airflow into the plural space can definitely be variable. And in some cases, this may be really small and self-limiting. In other cases, it might be completely relentless. But whether the patient is breathing spontaneously or whether they are being ventilated is a really important point that we need to consider. We're going to leave that until the next episode for a deeper look into eight traumatic pneumothorused.
